A first device (CCU) 2 for providing a wireless network aboard a vehicle establishing a first connection with a first network using a local SIM, allowing communication with a home agent 4a, 4b. The first device transmits an allocation request to the home agent and receives an allocation response indicating a virtual SIM (VSIM) selected from a plurality of VSIMs. The first device then establishes a second connection with a network and authenticates on the network using the VSIM. The vehicle can roam and use VSIMs to connect to different networks without having to carry multiple SIMs. The vehicle can have a plurality of SIMs and VSIMs and a network connection can be selected according to various criteria. |
