<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The machine has a stator (3) with a core body (4) that includes a circumferential nut pitch. A winding arrangement (5) is provided with windings (45-49). The windings and grooves (35-39) of a group of grooves (34) extending across a pole pitch are assigned to one of phases. The windings in the assigned grooves are provided with enclosed winding sections, where winding head connections (56) are formed between the sections. The winding head connections are assigned together to the different windings in a layer manner, where the number of phase is five. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a multi-phase electric machine. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Multi-phase electric machine i.e. multi-phase generator e.g. claw-pole generator, for use in a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The windings in the assigned grooves have the enclosed winding sections and winding head connections are formed between the sections, where the winding connections are assigned together to the different windings in a layer manner and the number of phase is five, thus reducing magnetic noise and flow noise and preventing ripples of rectified generator voltage, and hence improving performance and efficiency of the machine.
