Provided are an electrode for a battery, which can obtain good high-rate charge-discharge characteristics and also effectively prevent buckling or collapse due to a pressure; and a fabrication technique thereof. Provided is an electrode for a battery (10) including: a base (11) having a function as a current collector; and an active material layer (12) in which a plurality of active material lines formed by an active material are arranged in a line shape extending along a predetermined extending direction on a surface of the base (11), wherein the active material line includes a first line (121) having a first width W1 that is a width of a cross section perpendicular to the extending direction, and a second line (122) having a second width W2 that is a width of the cross section perpendicular to the extending direction, and greater than the first width, and having a height H2 from the surface of the base (11) that is higher than a height H1 of the first line (121).
