The invention relates to a drive sprocket, to a sprocket chain, and to a sprocket-chain drive. In one embodiment of the drive sprocket (100), the drive sprocket has a first side wall (120) and a second side wall, which are arranged at an axial distance from each other. The side walls accommodate intermediate bodies (150) between the side walls. Said intermediate bodies take on the transmission of force to a driven sprocket chain (G). Furthermore, a gate element (180) supported in a stationary manner outside can be provided in the intermediate space between the side walls.
