The device has multiple cracked cantilever arms (40), which are mounted on opposite sides of a carrier (24) of a transport unit (20) at a distance from each other, so that they project sideways over the carrier. Multiple bearing elements (42) are introduced between two adjacent cantilever arms. The cantilever arms have an I-profile with two channel-shaped recesses that are arranged on both sides by a center bar and open towards opposite sides. The bearing elements with their opposite ends are introduced from outside inwards into the opposite recesses of two adjacent cantilever arms. An independent claim is included for a transport unit with internal and external support.
