Flat and/or strip-like, electroluminescence device with a transparent and flexible electrode made of a woven fabric

The device has an electrode layer (10) formed at a flat side. Another electrode layer (18) is formed at an opposite flat side. A dielectric layer (16) and active layers (12, 14) are provided between the electrode layers. One of the electrode layers includes an electrically conductive, flexible and transparent fabric, and a pair of strip sections (18a, 18b) for connection with an electrical energy source (22) such that an electrical series circuit of sub regions of the device is obtained. The sub regions are formed between the strip sections for an opposite, common electrode layer. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a flat and/or strip-like, electroluminescence device.
