An apparatus for processing a digital image and a control method thereof are provided to compare an image before image capturing with a captured image to determine whether the captured image is a desired image, thereby capturing a desired image. An input image is inputted(S310). In the input image, a face of a person is recognized. The input image is stored as a reference image(S330). A captured image is obtained(S340). A face of a person is recognized from the captured image. The reference frame and the captured image are compared(S361). If it is determined whether the reference image is equal to the captured image, the captured image is stored. If it is determined whether the reference image is not equal to the captured image, the captured image is deleted. |
