A thin film solar cell according to the present invention, in a thin film solar cell which includes a backside electrode layer formed on a substrate and a light absorption layer formed on the backside electrode layer, further includes molybdenum oxide (MoOx)(0<=x<=3) containing oxygen (O2) in at least part of a region which is from the substrate to the light absorption layer.
