1. A method for monitoring success of treatment for a disorder characterized by undesirable cell proliferation selected from the group consisting of atherosclerosis, acute myocardial infarction, and coronary artery disease in a subject comprising:
(a) obtaining a first sample from the subject; (b) obtaining a second sample from the subject, wherein the second sample is obtained after the first sample, and after administration of the treatment for the disorder; (c) detecting the presence of an agent in the first and second samples, wherein the agent is selected from the group consisting of pathogenic archaea, pathogenic archaea nucleic acid, mycoplasma, chlamydia, C reactive protein, spirochete, electron dense lipidic particle associated with archaea nucleic acid, electron lucent lipidic particle associated with archaea nucleic acid, and combinations thereof, and wherein a decrease in the number or concentration of the agent in the second sample compared to the first sample indicates treatment success. |
