The present invention provides a method for evaluating aquatic toxicity including (a) step for putting a water-based sample into a measurement vessel; (b) a step for injecting euglena microorganisms into the measurement vessel containing the water-based sample; (c) a step for cultivating the euglena microorganisms injected into the measurement vessel; and (d) a step for measuring the chlorophyll fluorescence characteristics or motion characteristics of the cultivated euglena microorganisms. According to the method for evaluating aquatic toxicity by using the euglena microorganisms of the present invention, a parameter corresponding to the chlorophyll fluorescence characteristics or motion characteristics of the euglena microorganisms is used as an evaluation index, and thus the length of the time required for the aquatic toxicity evaluation is significantly reduced to approximately one hour. Also, the operation can be simplified and the toxicity sensitivity can be increased. |
