Disclosed are a method and a device for selecting a cell considering a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) precoding. According to the present invention, the device for selecting a serving cell in a MIMO communications system includes a candidate cell selection unit which selects multiple candidate base stations using a synchronization signal received from multiple base stations; a channel capacity calculation unit which calculates effective channel capacity of each candidate base station based on an effective signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) measured for each of the candidate base stations; and a serving cell selection unit which selects a cell corresponding to the candidate base station with the maximum effective channel capacity calculated as a serving cell. |
