The present invention relates to a non-toxic composition for alleviating insulin resistance, as an active ingredient of medicament or food, comprising alpha-ketoglutaric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and citric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as active ingredients for suppressing adipocytokines, particularly the acid production of the adipocytokines causing insulin resistance, and for preventing or alleviating onset of conditions caused by insulin resistance.
