The present invention relates to a ventilating device for a kitchen interlocked with a total heat exchanger and a ventilating method which effectively ventilates air in the kitchen even more by supplying a proper amount of outer air to the kitchen by interlocking with the total heat exchanger. The ventilating device for the kitchen interlocked with the total heat exchanger according to the present invention includes a lens hood installed in the kitchen and having a ventilation fan exhausting air inside the kitchen; a household ventilation unit supplying outer air to an open chamber and a compartment and exhausting the air inside the open chamber and compartment. An RPM sensor measuring the RPM of the ventilation fan is installed on the ventilation fan of the lens hood. A control unit is connected to the RPM sensor. The household ventilation unit includes air-supply passages supplying outer air to the open chamber and compartment; exhausting passages exhausting inner air from the open chamber and compartment; and the total heat exchanger having an air-supply fan forcibly supplying the outer air to each chamber via the air-supply passages, an exhausting fan forcibly exhausting the inner air via the exhausting passages. The ventilating device is characterized in that the control unit controls a supply of outer air to the kitchen via the air-supply passages connected to the open chamber when the RPM sensor senses a decrease of the RPM of the ventilation fan.
