The present invention relates to a method for editing an electronic document and, more specifically, to a method and an apparatus for inserting rows and columns into a table or deleting the rows and columns therefrom on an electronic document through a touchscreen display. The method for editing a table through a touchscreen display according to the present invention comprises the steps of: detecting an input for a unit area on a table including one or more unit areas; displaying a command input area for inserting rows or columns into the table or deleting rows or columns therefrom around a center portion of one unit area; detecting an input for the command input area; and inserting or deleting rows or columns in a direction of the command input area in which the input is detected relative to the center portion of the one unit area, in response to the input for the command input area. The present invention can efficiently insert rows or columns into a table or delete rows or columns therefrom on an electronic document through an intuitive gesture input on the touchscreen display. |
