The present invention relates to a mold for manufacturing an under-drive brake piston and a control method thereof. The mold includes a lower assembly (20) for supporting a workpiece, and an upper assembly (30) provided on the lower assembly (20) and moving downward to press the workpiece. The upper assembly (30) has an upper mandrel (312) of a tapered shape of which the diameter is reduced toward the upper portion, a segmented punch (314) segmented radially on the outer circumference of the upper mandrel (312) and moved downward along an inclined surface of the upper mandrel (312) to press the top surface of the workpiece, a resilient support ring (315) inserted to enclose the outer peripheral surface of the segmented punch (314) and made of a resilient material to resiliently support the outer circumference of the segmented punch (314), an outer punch (316) supporting the outer peripheral surface of the segmented punch (314), of which a segment interval is increased outwardly along the upper mandrel (312), and limiting the segment interval; and a guide anvil (318) supporting an upper end of the outer punch (316) and the segmented punch (314) so that the segmented punch (314) is slidably moved to the outside. Therefore, the work efficiency and the quality of a product are improved. |
