<p>A system and a method operative in daylight or at night for launching and guiding a projectile (117) toward a selected target are disclosed. The projectile is equipped with a computer (119) and is provided with a reference image of the target (116) prior to launch. After launch, the projectile derives images of the target with image acquisition means (122) disposed thereon. A computer program first recognizes the image of the target on the post-launch images by comparison with the reference image, and second, guides the projectile by relating the image of the target to at least one border of the image. The computer program initiates explosion either on impact or in proximity of the target.</p> |
