The device has a plate comprising a contour determined in correspondence with that of a zone of an abdominal wall to be reinforced. The plate is made of perforated fabric whose texture is provided with alternation of loose mesh wide strips (52) and tight mesh narrow strips (51). The strips inside the contour are directed longitudinally along direction of muscular fibers of a muscle on which the plate is applied. The narrow strips ensure rigidification of the plate along the longitudinal direction when the wide strips provide flexibility of individual extensibility to the direction.
