The slab (1) has a frame defining a lower surface that forms a laying plane (5), where a web (6) partially covers the frame. A retaining element (7) projects in close proximity to an edge of the laying plane, where the retaining element is in the form of a profile reported on the laying plane of the frame. The frame includes an assembly of sections, where the retaining element is integrated in one of the sections of the frame. The retaining element is intended to limit travel of the slab in a throat (8) of a suspension section (2). An independent claim is also included for a false ceiling system.
