A device for detecting a failure in a battery system is provided. A failure detecting device of the battery system comprises; a voltage detector which receives a voltage signal from the battery system and digitalizes the voltage signal and produces voltage data; a discrete wavelet converter which receives the voltage data and performs the discrete wavelet conversion of the voltage data and produces conversion data; a statistic processing unit which receives and processes the conversion data and produces statistic data including an average value of the statistic data; and a failure diagnosing unit which detects a failure in the battery system based on the statistic data and transmits a failure signal when a failure is detected. |
