Disclosed is the use of an inhibitor as defined herein, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of diarrhoea-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome (d-IBS), wherein the inhibitor is selected from the group consisting of: - extract from Croton spp. or Calophyllum spp.; - latex from Croton spp. or Calophyllum spp.; - proanthocyanidin polymer composition from a Croton species or a Calophyllum species; and - crofelemer, wherein the amount of inhibitor is bioequivalent to crofelemer at a dosage of 50 mg per day to 750 mg per day.
