PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition which has excellent hydrolysis resistance and is suitable as a front sheet for a solar cell, and to provide a process for producing the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a process for producing a polyester composition comprising: subjecting a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component to an esterification reaction; and subsequently carrying out a polycondensation reaction to produce polyester continuously, wherein, to an esterification reaction product having an esterification reaction rate of 90 to 95% and a temperature of 230 to 240°C, a 0.20 to 0.50 wt.% diol solution of a phosphoric acid alkali metal compound of an amount of 1.0 to 3.0 mol/ton relative to a polyester composition obtained, and 1.5 to 5.0 mol/ton of phosphoric acid are continuously added and a polycondensation reaction is conducted in the presence of a polycondensation catalyst. |
