PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical cell in which liquid leakage resistance can be improved.SOLUTION: A silver oxide cell comprises: a positive electrode can which is formed into a cylinder having a bottom part; a negative electrode can 12 which is formed into a cylinder having a lid part 12a and is housed in the positive electrode can; and an electrolyte which is housed in a space defined by the positive electrode can and the negative electrode can 12. The negative electrode can 12 is formed into a two-staged cylinder whose inner diameter decreases toward the lid part 12a. Of the two stages of the cylinder, a cylindrical part which is closer to the lid part 12a is provided as a first cylindrical part 21, and a cylindrical part which is far from the lid part 12a is provided as a second cylindrical part 22. A first curved inner surface 21is of the first cylindrical part 21 protrudes outward on a first peak P1, and a second curved inner surface 22is of the second cylindrical part 22 protrudes outward on a second peak P2. A folding angle &thetas; between a straight line A connecting the first peak P1 to the second peak P2 and the bottom part is in a range of 15° to 45°. |
