The purpose of the present invention is to provide a component mounting system which determines, by simulation, which component is efficient for mounting as a bulk component in a bulk feeder, as well as a bulk component determination method used for same. To this end, the system is provided with: a substrate carrier unit (30) having carrier lanes (31, 32) which convey a plurality of substrates (B) of different types; a component supply unit (20) which supplies a component to be mounted on the plurality of substrates; a mounting head (47) which has a suction nozzle (60) which picks up the component supplied by the component supply unit and mounts the component picked up by the suction nozzle onto a substrate; a bulk feeder (80) which mounts the at least one type of bulk component, which is held together with the mounting head and picked up by the suction nozzle; and a bulk component determination processing unit which performs a simulation which calculates, for each component, the amount of operation time when a component supplied from the component supply unit is moved onto a substrate on the carrier lane, and on the basis of the calculated amount of operation time, determines a bulk component to mount on the bulk feeder. |
