A covering for an architectural opening comprising: a driven member (15) connected to 5 a covering member (5) and able to displace the covering member (5) between an open and a closed position; a pair of first and second stationary end stops (23, 25) spaced apart on a stationary member (19); a travelling member (21) movably arranged on the stationary member (19) between the first and second end stops (23, 25) and drivable by the driven member (15); and a single impact absorber ( 11) flexibly connecting the 10 driven member (13, 15) with the stationary member (19) such that at least a portion of kinematic energy generated by the travelling member (21) interacting with any one of the end stops (23, 25) is cushioned or absorbed. .
