The actuator (10) has one or multiple pistons (11) acted upon with hydraulic fluid (14). The pistons are formed for pressing a brake lining (13) with respect to a brake disk (2) when the pistons are acted upon with the hydraulic fluid, where the brake disk is arranged in a retainer (12) for the brake lining. The pistons are magnetically influenced and movements of the pistons are additionally electromagnetically controllable. Each piston is surrounded by a coil (5), which is formed for producing a magnetic field. An independent claim is also included for a fixed caliper brake.
