PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of determining whether or not there is a capacity left for prevention of scumming and developing performance in the current image formation conditions and effectively utilizing the capacity, so as to improve image quality including prevention of white streaks.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus, taking the current linear velocity ratio as a reference position, changes a linear velocity ratio downward from the reference position and measures a scumming value x0 and x1, and a value of a toner adhesion amount y0 and y1. When the scumming value x0 and x1 are equal to or less than a threshold A-1, the value of a toner adhesion amount y0 and y1 are equal to or more than a threshold B-1, and lines connecting the respective two points xL and yL are inclined within a pre-set range, the image forming apparatus determines that there is a capacity left for prevention of scumming and developing performance, and reduces the linear velocity ratio to provide a new linear velocity ratio effective for prevention of white streaks. |
