<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic flow calculation apparatus and method for calculating traffic flow simply and accurately.SOLUTION: A cross-sectional traffic flow calculation apparatus 1 includes: a receiving unit 11 which receives an LA boundary across signal to be transmitted from a mobile communication terminal 2 moving across a location area including a plurality of sectors corresponding to a communication range of a base station; a terminal flow rate calculation unit 13 which accumulates the number of across signals received by the receiving unit 11 for each calculation area including some or all of the sectors included in the location area moved, to calculate an inter-area terminal flow rate; and a cross-sectional traffic flow calculation unit 15 which multiplies the inter-area terminal flow rate by a predetermined coefficient, to calculate an inter-area cross-sectional traffic flow as the number of moving persons for each calculation area.</p> |
