The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition includingα-spinasterol as an active ingredient for preventing or treating androgen-related diseases, disorders, or conditions. The plant-derivedα-spinasterol of the present invention remarkably decreases the level of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the serum and prostate. The administration of the composition including theα-spinasterol of the present invention induces a decrease in the weight of the prostate which has become thicker (pachynesis) due to androgen-related diseases, disorders, or conditions (e.g. BPH). Accordingly, the excellent activity and stability of theα-spinasterol of the present invention can be very advantageously applied to medical and quasi-authorized products.
