PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device with improved visibility.SOLUTION: An image display device includes: (1) a white light source having a continuous emission spectrum; (2) an image display cell; (3) a polarizer placed closer to a viewing side than the image display cell; and (4) a polarizer protective film laminated on viewing side of the polarizer; and (5) a scattering preventing film placed closer to the viewing side than the polarizer protective film. The polarizer protective film and the scattering preventing are oriented films having 3000 to 150000 nm retardation. Orientation principal axes of the polarizer protective film and the scattering preventing film are approximately parallel to each other or the polarizer protective film and the scattering preventing film have different retardations from each other, and the difference is 1800 nm or higher. |
