[Problem] To provide a pharmaceutical composition containing a substituted phenanthrene compound, which has a superior cancer cell proliferation inhibitory effect compared with known substituted phenanthrene compounds each having a cancer cell proliferation inhibitory effect. [Solution] The present invention is accomplished on the basis of a finding that a substituted phenanthrene compound represented by formula (I) has a superior cancer cell proliferation inhibitory effect compared with known substituted phenanthrene compounds each having a cancer cell proliferation inhibitory effect and has no adverse side effect. |
