Provided are a granular activated carbon and a manufacturing method for the same which can be used for wood-based steam-activated carbon and similar applications. The granular activated carbon is obtained by carbonizing an activated carbon source material, then pulverizing the material, mixing the material with a calcium component and molding the mixture, then subjecting the same to carbonization and activation, and then washing the same.
