The fuel cell system has fuel cell stack (1) that is composed of several fuel cells (2) that are connected in series. Ends of fuel cell stack are provided with current collector (3) in which an end plate (4) is abutted. The fuel cell stack is heated rapidly to optimum operating temperature. A combustion chamber (5) is arranged on current collector on opposite side of fuel cell stack.
