PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve centering of a work-piece with high accuracy and enhance repeatability of centering.SOLUTION: A chuck mechanism for a machine tool comprises a master jaw 50 having a master side serration surface 52 onto which plural master side serrations 55 extending in a first direction and a rail 21 extending in a second direction different from the first direction are attached, and plural soft jaws 60 for gripping a work-piece provided on the master side serration surface 52. The soft jaw 60 is provided with a soft side serration 65 fitting into the master side serration 55 and a rail groove 31 which extends in the second direction and into which the rail 21 is fitted. There is no influence of accumulation of errors during molding in the second direction and positioning in the first direction can be securely carried out with respect to fitting between the rail 21 and the rail groove 31, whereby centering of the work-piece can be achieved with high accuracy and repeatability of attachment can be enhanced at a low cost. |
