The present invention relates to the field of video monitoring, and a trunk management method for a video monitoring system and device for same are disclosed in the present invention. In the present invention, when a plurality of clients with different priorities access same monitoring equipment, the connection priority of the monitoring equipment is the highest priority of all the clients. If a new client accesses the monitoring equipment and the priority of the new client is higher than the connection priority of the monitoring equipment, the priority of the new client is set as the connection priority of the monitoring equipment; and if the priority of the new client is not higher than the connection priority of the monitoring equipment, the connection priority of the monitoring equipment is unchanged. When a network bandwidth does not reach full load, a service needs to be given to a video request of each client; and when the network bandwidth is in a full load state, the video request of a client with low priority is rejected, thus network resources are utilized more reasonably for the connection management based on the priorities of the clients, and congestion and even paralysis of a network are avoided. |
