[Problem] To provide a wire crimping device and wire crimping method whereby a wire tip section can be smoothly inserted into and firmly and efficiently crimped by a hollow crimp section of a closed-barrel crimp terminal. [Solution] A wire crimping device (10) provided with a wire crimping unit (300) and a guide unit (410) is provided. The wire crimping unit (300) crimps a crimp section (120) into which a wire tip section (200a) has been inserted via a wire insertion opening (123) in the base end (Xb) of the crimp section (120) with respect to the lengthwise direction (X) thereof. The guide unit (410) guides the tip of an aluminum conductor (220) into the wire insertion opening (123) of a female crimp terminal (100) that is disposed at a prescribed position so that the wire crimping unit (300) can crimp same. The inside diameter of the part of the guide unit (410) that faces the aforementioned wire insertion opening (123) is matched to the inside diameter of the wire insertion opening (123).
