摘要 <p>Provided is a method in which, when manufacturing reduced iron by heating an agglomerate, the yield of the reduced iron is increased and the productivity is improved. A method for manufacturing reduced iron including: a step for agglomerating a mixture containing an iron oxide source, a carbonaceous reducing agent, and a melting point adjustment agent; and a step for heating the resulting agglomerate and reducing and melting the iron oxide in the agglomerate; the agglomerate used being such that the value X calculated according to the formula (1) on the basis of the T.Fe, CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, MgO, and CaF2 contents of the agglomerate is no greater than 370 kg/ton, and the value Y calculated according to the formula (2) on the basis of the CaO, SiO2, and Al2O3 contents of the agglomerate is at least 0.5.
