PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform remote control of an electric apparatus while securing safety and without impairing convenience.SOLUTION: A terminal device 3 performs communication with an electric apparatus 5 provided in a dwelling 8 through a home network 4. The terminal device 3 comprises a control unit for determining whether or not an operation state of the electric apparatus 5 is abnormal on the basis of the operation state of the electric apparatus 5 which is stored in a data storage unit, when receiving a user's request for remote operation on the electric apparatus 5. When the operation state of the electric apparatus 5 is abnormal, the terminal device 3 does not accept the request for the remote operation excluding the case that the operation shows stop or power-off.
