PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a processing speed in an image formation accompanied by skip processing. ! SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 1 transfers image data from a system controller 2 to an engine controller 6 for performing an image formation while causing a plotter 9 to perform skip transportation for a white line. The image formation apparatus 1 detects the white line at a stage of encoding the image data by a compression controller of the system controller 2. The compression controller does not encode the detected white line, generates a white band code which is information relating to a white band, and encodes a non-white line only to store that on a memory 4. When decoding the code data of the non-white line in the memory 4, the image formation apparatus 1 inserts the white line as white line data to a decoded non-white line or adds the white band code indicating the white line to the decoded non-white line, and transfers the data to the engine controller 6. !
