The present invention relates to a jet black coating with resistance to wear, wherein first a DLC layer with a high degree of hardness is applied to a component and a gradient layer, the density of which decreases in the direction of the surface, is applied to said DLC layer. Owing to the refractive index curve created thereby in the gradient layer, the gradient layer functions as a reflection-reducing layer.
