A camera apparatus (10A; 10B) includes a rotatable camera unit (40); a filter unit (50A; 50B) which is configured to selectively take at least one of a covering state and a standby state, wherein the covering state covers a light incident portion of the camera unit (40) with a filter (58) and the standby state removes the filter from the light incident portion; a controller (70) which is configured to control a rotation of the camera unit (40) and a state of the filter unit (50A; 50B); and a memory (71) which stores posture information including a direction of the camera unit and filter information representing at least one of the covering state and the standby state of the filter unit (50A; 50B). The controller (70) controls the direction of the camera unit based on the posture information stored in the memory (71) and controls the filter unit (50A; 50B) based on the filter information stored in the memory (71).
