The system has detection units (22, 23) with sound sensors (10, 11) installed on a rail track (21). The detecting units are coupled to evaluation units (12-14) that are coupled via an interface (15) to a route price accounting system (17). The evaluation units are arranged to evaluate the recorded sound from the sound sensors, generate sound reporting data, and deliver the sound reporting data to the route price accounting system via the interface, where the evaluation units generate the sound reporting data associated with individual wagons (2-8) of a train (9). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a rail track (2) a method for automatic determination of a noise-dependant route payment for a train.
