The invention relates to an airbag module for a motor vehicle, comprising a gas bag (2) that can be inflated using a gas generator (6) in order to protect a person, a module housing (7) that receives said gas bag (2) and has a projection protruding from a module housing (7) main chamber which receives the gas bag (2), a gas bag holder (5) for securing said gas bag to the module housing (7), an inflatable element (1) which regulates the gas pressure in the gas bag (2), is secured to the gas bag holder (5), and interacts, when inflated, with a deflation opening through which gas coming from the airbag module is able to escape, a triggering unit (4) that fills the inflatable element with gas and is arranged inside the module housing (7) in the projection (70) thereof, and a securing element (3) which fixes the triggering unit (4) to the module housing (7). The securing element (3) engages with the projection (70) of the module housing (7) by means of a main element (30) with which it encompasses at least some sections of the triggering unit (4). |
