PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter capable of preventing cracks and separation of outer layers by suppressing stress generated in a boundary of the outer layers having different hardnesses even when the catheter inserted into a blood vessel is placed still in a curved state for a long period of time.SOLUTION: In a catheter, since the thickness of an intermediate layer 29 is fixed from a body part 10a to a tip part 10b, the bonding strength of the intermediate layer and an inner layer 24 is uniform from the body part to the tip part of a catheter shaft 10. Therefore, when the catheter is curved, the movement of a blade 26 caused by the curving can be uniformly suppressed from the body part to the adjacent tip part. When the catheter is curved, even if pulling stress to a rear end side acts on a first outer layer 28a of the body part and pulling stress to a front end side acts on a second outer layer 28b of the adjacent tip part, by an anchor effect, the catheter is caught on a projecting and recessed contour of the intermediate layer so that the first outer layer and the second outer layer can be prevented from being separated from the intermediate layer. |
