PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect shortage of physical resources shared between virtual machines.SOLUTION: A measurement device achieves a plurality of virtual machines, and allocates a part of physical memory to memory of each virtual machine. In the measurement device, a first virtual machine comprises a securing unit, a measurement unit and a determination unit. The securing unit secures a measurement area by writing prescribed data in the physical memory. The measurement unit measures read performance by periodically reading the prescribed data from the measurement area. The determination unit determines that physical memory equal to or more than a capacity is allocated to the plurality of virtual machines when the read performance is lower than a prescribed reference value.
