PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device that can relax impact when a steering column falls down by its own weight and facilitates returning of the steering column to a position before the falling.SOLUTION: The steering column device 1 comprises: a steering column 3; a housing 40 that slides with the steering column 3; a lower bracket 7 that slidably supports the housing 40 around a tilt rotary shaft; an upper bracket 8 that can switch between a lock state where sliding of the steering column 3 is restricted and a non-lock state where the sliding of the steering column 3 is allowed; and an elastic body 6 that generates elastic reaction force responding to sliding in the falling direction of the steering column 3 under the non-lock state of the upper bracket 8. In the elastic body 6, one end portion thereof is attached to an elastic body attached portion 722 provided in the lower bracket 7 and the other end portion is contacted with the housing 40 so as to impart elastic reaction force to the housing 40. |
