PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device with improved visibility.SOLUTION: An image display device includes: (1) a white light source having a continuous emission spectrum 2; (2) an image display cell 4; (3) a polarizer 8 placed closer to a viewing side than the image display cell; (4) a polarizer protective film 10b laminated on the viewing side of the polarizer; and (5) a scattering preventing film 15 placed closer to the viewing side than the polarizer protective film 10b. The scattering preventing film is an oriented film, and the polarizer protective film is an oriented film having 3000 to 150000 nm retardation. |
