PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave power generation device capable of improving maintainability while curbing an increase in manufacturing cost of the wave power generation device.SOLUTION: A wave power generation device 1 comprises: a body 2; a power generation buoy 3 which moves up and down along a vertical central axis of the body 2; a transmission mechanism 4 which converts up-and-down motion of the power generation buoy 3 into rotary motion; and a generator 5 which is connected to the transmission mechanism 4. The power generation device 1 also has: at least one columnar member 6 upwardly extended from the body 2; and a machine chamber 7 arranged at an upper edge section of the columnar member 6 with the generator 5 installed therein. The transmission mechanism 4 has one or one bundle of wire 9. The wire 9 is reciprocated along with the up-and-down motion of the power generation buoy 3. Then, reciprocatory motion of the wire 9 is transmitted to a rotational shaft of the generator 5 to rotate the same.
