[Problem] To provide a positioning device capable of outputting an optimal positioning calculation result according to the intended use. [Solution] A positioning device (10) comprises a capturing and tracking unit (20), a positioning data calculating unit (30), an index calculating unit (40), a selection condition setting unit (50), and a velocity selecting unit (60). The capturing and tracking unit (20) calculates a carrier phase and a code phase. The positioning data calculating unit (30) calculates a velocity (vφ) from the carrier phase and calculates a velocity (vρ) from the code phase. The index calculating unit (40) calculates an index that comprises the number of satellites, from satellites that are tracking the carrier phase and satellites that are tracking the code phase, for each of the carrier phase and the code phase, or HDOP for each of the carrier phase and the code phase. The velocity selecting unit (60) selects either the velocity (vφ) or the velocity (vρ) on the basis of the index and the selection criteria based on the priority and output rate set by the selection condition setting unit (50).
