The present invention relates to a context aware type emergency lantern for a ship comprising: a light emitting part for providing a light source to enable crew members to safely escape when a blackout occurs on the ship; a power supply part for providing a light source for the light emitting part; and, more, to a light variation unit for controlling the light emitting part to vary a color of the light source into a green color or a blue color according to the context. The light emitting part, turning on when the blackout caused by various safety accidents occur, is controlled via the context aware light variation unit to provide a green light source with a wavelength range of 500-530 nm which may efficiently assure visibility in a dark place and, if the ship is sunk underwater (the seawater), to provide a blue light source with a wavelength of 450-490 nm in which underwater penetration ratio is good, thereby providing a light source with a wavelength band proper to easily assure visibility to the crew members, speedily guiding the escape of the crew members and minimizing damage of human life caused by the safety accident.
