Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for implementing data synchronization between a server and a client in a DNS mechanism, the method including: A. a server determines whether data is updated, and sends a notification message indicating that the data is updated to the client; field information in the notification message identifies the notification message; B. the client updates a record in a local buffer area based on the field information in the notification message indicating that that data is updated. Thus, the client may delete the corresponding record in the local buffer area as demanded by itself, or the client may request the updated record from the server when required to use the record. In accordance with the embodiments of the present invention, the client is also allowed to directly update the record in the buffer area based on the updated record contained in the notification message of the server so as to use the record next time. |
